Supports JPG, PNG, WebP — Max 10MBHow to Use
The Cover Resizer makes it simple to prepare images for social media platforms that each require specific aspect ratios. Instead of manually calculating dimensions or opening a heavy photo editor, you can do everything right here in your browser.
Step 1: Upload your source image by clicking the upload area or dragging a file directly onto it. The tool supports JPG, PNG, and WebP formats up to 10MB. Your image never leaves your device — all processing happens client-side.
Step 2: Select your target platform and aspect ratio from the dropdown menu. Choose from TikTok (9:16), Instagram Square (1:1), Instagram Portrait (4:5), YouTube (16:9), LinkedIn (1.91:1), X/Twitter (16:9), Pinterest (2:3), or Facebook (1.91:1). Each option displays the standard pixel dimensions alongside the ratio.
Step 3: Click "Crop & Preview" to apply a center-crop that fits your selected aspect ratio. The preview shows exactly how your image will look. If you are satisfied, click "Download Result" to save the cropped image as a high-quality PNG file ready for upload.
This tool is ideal for content creators, social media managers, marketers, and anyone who needs to repurpose a single image across multiple platforms. Instead of creating separate crops manually in Photoshop or Canva, you can batch through each ratio in seconds.
Tips & Best Practices
Start with a high-resolution source. Always upload the largest version of your image. Cropping reduces the pixel count, so starting big ensures the final output remains sharp. For print or high-DPI displays, aim for at least twice the recommended pixel dimensions.
Avoid text near the edges. Different platforms add their own overlays — profile icons, action buttons, and text banners — that may cover the edges of your cover image. Keep important content (headlines, logos, faces) within the center safe zone, roughly 80% of the frame.
Platform-specific advice: TikTok and Instagram Stories (9:16) fill the entire mobile screen, so vertical composition works best. LinkedIn and Facebook (1.91:1) are wide formats used for link previews, so place your focal point slightly left of center. Pinterest (2:3) favors tall vertical images with bright, text-overlaid graphics.
Export format: PNG is recommended for images with text or transparency. For photographs, you can use a JPEG converter afterward to reduce file size. Most platforms compress images above 1MB, so keeping your file under that threshold helps preserve quality.
